A working student job can be the perfect stepping stone for a direct entry into a career. Kristina followed this path at Sereact. In this interview, she reveals what motivates her and how she sees the future of marketing.
What inspired you to work in the marketing industry, and what motivates you to work in this field?
Marketing is a very wide-ranging field. There are countless areas that need to be covered, which constantly provides me with the opportunity to further develop and deepen my knowledge. The field is incredibly dynamic, and there are always new trends and technological developments that make it never boring. I find the various levels and touchpoints through which potential customers can be reached, and the psychology behind it particularly exciting. Moreover, I am fascinated by how targeted marketing can have a significant impact on a company's market position as well as the success of a product or service. Every company needs good marketing, which gives me a wide range of potential employers to choose from. Ultimately, I chose Sereact because I was so enthusiastic about the product itself, and marketing for a very complex and explanatory product in the B2B sector presents a significant challenge that makes daily work all the more exciting.
What skills and qualities do you think a person needs to have in online marketing?
In my opinion, the most important skills and qualities in online marketing are a good technical understanding, analytical and strategic thinking, as well as good communication and organizational skills. A certain degree of creativity should also be present to develop innovative and appealing marketing campaigns that stand out from the competition and at the same time fulfill the needs and desires of the target group. Intelligent and well-founded decision-making based on data and market analysis is crucial to planning, implementing, and optimizing a successful campaign.
What sources and tools do you use to stay up to date in the fast-paced marketing world?
I read relevant newsletters and follow marketing experts on LinkedIn to make sure I don’t miss any news. Additionally, I regularly listen to marketing podcasts to learn from experts and stay informed about new trends and technologies. On YouTube, I specifically search for tutorials to make the most of the available tools. And, of course, I also use ChatGPT for various use cases.
If you could choose a pet for the office, what animal would it be, and why?
Definitely a cat. It would fit perfectly into the office atmosphere and receive much attention from us. However, we would spend half the day just playing with the cat and constantly distracting ourselves from work because she jumps from table to table and knocks things over.
What clothing item would you create for Sereact?
We already have Sereact hoodies and t-shirts, which have been well received by the team and are worn frequently. I think slippers and matching socks would be the perfect addition, and everyone would immediately swap their street shoes for Sereact slippers at the entrance.
What does the future of marketing look like, in your opinion? What developments and changes should one expect?
Marketing has always been a fast-paced field, but since the release of ChatGPT, developments have been accelerating. AI-powered tools are now essential in daily work, and there are new extensions or tips for using them every day. Search engines and their algorithms will also continue to evolve, changing the application of SEO. Companies need to be prepared to adapt and optimize their marketing strategies more quickly to succeed in the fast-paced marketing world. I think that we have to prepare ourselves for even stronger personalization of marketing campaigns and that we will increasingly rely on data-driven decisions and AI-supported tools.
