AWL x Sereact

AWL is a global provider of robotics and automation solutions with over 4,000 integrated robots. Sereact focuses on AI-powered software for autonomous pick-and-place, enabling robots to adapt flexibly to changing conditions. By combining AWL’s decades-long expertise in mechanical engineering and robot integration with AI-powered software, AWL and Sereact are opening up new possibilities for flexible automation. In dynamic production environments, conventional systems often reach their limits. “We are combining AWL’s 30 years of hardware and robot integration expertise with our AI software. The result is solutions that allow companies to make their intralogistics processes more efficient and scalable,” explains Ralf Gulde, Co-Founder and CEO of Sereact.

Flexible Robotics for Dynamic Demands in Industry and Intralogistics

In modern production and logistics centers, traditional automation systems are often inflexible: They require long training periods and cannot respond spontaneously to changing demands. This is precisely where the Sereact AI Model comes into play. “Our customers need robots that can dynamically adapt to new situations – and that’s exactly what the integration of the Sereact AI into our solutions enables,” adds Arjen Vos, Director Strategy & Development at AWL. This technology is driven by the latest advances in AI, supports multilingual interactions, and introduces a new level of engagement between operators and technology.

Highest Flexibility in Item-Picking

A key advantage of the Sereact AI is its ability to handle even complex or variable tasks – for example, when products have varying dimensions or when dealing with delicate materials. “The zero-shot performance of the Sereact AI Model impressed us. With it, we can handle items without prior training, which increases throughput and reduces error rates,” explains Vos. Initially, the focus is on item-picking processes.

Joint Projects in Preparation

The first applications of the joint solution are already in the pilot phase with selected customers. In the long term, a worldwide rollout is planned, as AWL has locations in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, China, Mexico, the USA, and the United Kingdom. “From the start, we have aimed to deploy our robotic systems in a wide variety of environments and industries,” says Gulde. “With AWL as our partner, we can bring AI-powered robotics into real-world applications more quickly and offer companies around the world new automation opportunities.”
