Case Study Daimler Truck

We are pleased to share an update on our work with one of our most valued partners, Daimler Truck.

Our work with Daimler Truck focused on kitting - a critical step in manufacturing, which involves assembling various parts and components for further production. This process is particularly challenging in the automotive sector due to the variety of surfaces and geometries of the parts involved. Manual kitting is not only time-consuming, but also prone to errors, resulting in inefficiencies and increased operating costs.

To address this challenge, we use a hybrid gripper capable of both suction and two-finger gripping. Our comprehensive solution, which combines state-of-the-art software and robust hardware, ensures reliable handling of a wide variety of parts and enables full automation of the kitting process.

Benefits for the automotive industry

  • Increased efficiency: Automating the kitting process significantly reduces lead times and increases productivity, allowing manufacturers to meet tight production schedules and market demands.
  • Cost savings: Reduced manual labor and error rates result in significant cost savings. These savings can be reinvested in further innovation and development.
  • Flexibility: The hybrid gripper, managed by our versatile software, handles a wide range of parts, providing exceptional production flexibility. This flexibility is essential to meet the evolving designs and specifications of the automotive industry.
  • Quality Improvement: Accurate and repeatable processes minimize errors and improve the quality of the final product.
