Our recent collaboration with Ludwig Meister, an industrial wholesaler, demonstrates how our technology can transform the efficiency and accuracy of goods handling within their AutoStore system. This case study details how our innovative solution is driving improvements in their operations.
At the heart of Ludwig Meister's operation is a robotic system that picks parts from bins and places them into small compartments, each one-eighth the size of a standard bin. This process, known as consolidation, requires an exceptionally high degree of precision. Any collision within these small compartments could bring the entire system to a halt, resulting in costly downtime.
To address these challenges, our solution uses a unique gripper equipped with three independently controllable suction cups. This allows the gripper to dynamically adapt to a wide range of packaging materials and product types, ensuring safe and efficient handling of Ludwig Meister's diverse inventory. The versatility of this gripper is particularly important given the variety of products handled, from small, delicate items to larger, more robust components.
